Florida State University’s Social Science Scholars program celebrated its 2023 cohort at its Spring Reception on Wednesday, April 26, 2023.
The Social Science Scholars Program, housed within the College of Social Sciences and Public Policy, is a highly competitive leadership development program for exceptional undergraduates in the College. Students participate in a leadership seminar in the spring semester that prepares them for internships, research, and service projects the following summer semester. Students then finish the program in the fall by completing a reflection course.
“I am so grateful that Social Science Scholars prepared me to remain fluid in challenging environments,” Rose Walters, a 2022 Social Science Scholar, said. “The program developed my leadership skills so that I could articulate my values, ideas, and solutions with intention, grace, and ease.”
This year’s cohort of 18 students is completing summer projects ranging from completing an Honors in the Major project following the lives of Buddhist nuns in China to working as a Foreign Service Intern with the U.S. State Department.
We wish the 2023 Scholars the best of luck on their internships!
