As registration opens for the Summer and Fall 2024 semesters, review the information below about reserve caps on undergraduate courses in the College of Social Sciences & Public Policy.
- Reserve caps require that students meet specific criteria (pursuing a given major, certification to upper-division, enrolled in a specialized program, etc.) to register for reserved seats. Not all courses or seats necessarily have reserve caps, but students who do not meet criteria cannot register for reserved seats unless or until the cap lifts.
- If you have questions about courses taught through departments/colleges not listed here, you must contact the department in question. COSSPP faculty/staff cannot speak to reserve caps or registration requirements for courses taught outside of their units.
- COSSPP academic advisors assist with schedule building, mapping milestones, verifying graduation requirements, etc., but they cannot register students for classes. For information about registering for a class that has a reserve cap, contact the academic program specialist or academic coordinator for that department.
