Summer 2025 dates and deadlines
Review the dates and deadlines below related to the continuing Summer B and Summer C sessions and the approaching end of the overall Summer semester.
Course drop deadlines
Each Summer session (A, B, and C) has its own adjusted drop deadlines for the prorated 7th and 12th weeks. You are responsible for verifying the session and deadlines for any course on your schedule that you are considering dropping.
Summer B 7th Week deadline – July 11
- Last day request S/U grading or change S/U option back to letter grade.
- Last day to drop courses without permission of academic dean’s office.
- Last day to drop a class without receiving a grade.
Summer C 12th Week deadline – July 18
Summer B 12th Week deadline – July 25
- Deadline for a late drop with dean’s office permission.
Find detailed instructions for pre-7th week drops and 12th week late drops on our website.
End of term grades
Summer B/C sessions and the entire Summer semester all end on Friday, August 1. Grades are official and will post to student transcripts on Wednesday, August 5.
Reminders for graduating students
University Commencement ceremonies will be held on Friday, August 1, at the Donald L. Tucker Civic Center.
- Questions about the ceremony, guest tickets, etc. can be found on the University Registrar’s graduation website or can be sent to graduation@fsu.edu .
- Remember: participation in Commencement is not the same as graduating and earning your degree. You must satisfactorily complete all graduation requirements independent of participating in any Commencement ceremony.
Final grades for the semester post on Wednesday, August 5. Degree verification begins on this date. Degrees post to student transcripts on August 28, 2025.
The College hosts a come-and-go reception for students applied to graduate each semester. Students, families, and friends are invited to join us on Friday, August 1, from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm in the Bellamy atrium. Graduates can enjoy light refreshments, pick up a small congratulatory gift, and connect with our Alumni Engagement Coordinator, Elizabeth Jones, while the College provides professional cap and gown photos.
Fall 2025 course registration
Fall 2025 course registration will reopen for four weeks starting next Monday, before temporarily closing again before Fall drop/add. Be sure to make any needed schedule adjustments as soon as possible in order to secure your seats in Fall classes.
Open registration July 14-August 10
Registration reopens for all continuing degree-seeking students (including students who started in Summer B) on Monday, July 14, at 12:01 am. Use this opportunity to make any final schedule adjustments needed before or after Summer grades post so that you can secure your seats for Fall courses.
If you receive an error message (a red X) when attempting to register, the course may be reserved for students in specific programs. You must contact the academic department that teaches that course with any questions.
Open registration closes on Sunday, August 10, at 11:59 pm.
Students who are currently on the Summer 2025 graduation list cannot register for future coursework.
