Future Pipe Industries is the third largest manufacturer of fiberglass pipes in the world with 5,000 employees worldwide. Al Busaidy’s responsibilities include scaling the business into a billion-dollar company by 2027.

“Being appointed as President of FPI is not only a huge honor but a testament to what hard work and dedication can do for you,” Al Busaidy said. “I’m first grateful to God, family, mentors, and to the people who’ve believed in me throughout my journey.”

Al Busaidy attended Florida State University as an international student from Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE), through the Fulbright Scholar program, an exchange program dedicated to finding solutions to local and global challenges. He concentrated his studies on security in the Middle East, particularly in the Arabian Gulf.

During his time at FSU, Al Busaidy served as the Director of Communications for the International Studies Graduate Association and earned a graduate certificate in U.S. Intelligence Studies. In 2022, he received FSU’s Notable Nole Award, a recognition given to alumni who demonstrate academic excellence and outstanding contribution to the community.

When reflecting upon his time at FSU, he expressed meeting and later marrying fellow Nole and COSSPP alumna Hannah Sain (B.A. Environmental Science and Policy ‘19 & M.S. Urban and Planning ‘22) impacted his life in happily unexpected ways.

“Hannah and I met over Zoom due to COVID-19, we both had taken a class called Growth of Cities, and one of the first places that she took me out in Tallahassee is Piney Z,” Al Busaidy said. “We both love the outdoors, and we practically went out at all the trails in Tallahassee and continued our adventures through road trips and visiting national parks.”

One of Al Busaidy’s most memorable experiences at FSU was his role as a TA, which increased his confidence and set him up for success in the next few years. He was invited back to speak in several classes such as Hard Targets and Intelligence as well as Globalism.

Al Busaidy speaks to FSU students about UAE culture during a class visit.

“I’m an ambassador of Florida State University, and I always share the wonderful experience I had at FSU,” Al Busaidy said. “My degree has given me confidence and knowledge of global affairs. I truly believe that it will help me grow my network internationally and nurture these relationships to the fullest.”

Al Busaidy is also the Founder of Global Possibilities, a public affairs and investment consulting firm based in the U.S. and UAE, and the author of Just Read It (2015), a self-development guide for young professionals focusing on emotional and social intelligence.

Al Busaidy has a diverse set of work experiences, including his role as Senior Commercial Attaché for the UK Department for International Trade, Project Manager for the Department of Municipalities and Transport in Abu Dhabi, and Head of Economic Affairs at the UAE Consulate General in New York with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

“My advice to students is to make sure you forge the right relationships with your classmates and your professors as this network can truly benefit you when you graduate,” Al Busaidy said. “Your network is your net worth.”
