The editorial board of the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS) journal is honoring a pair of COSSPP researchers for their 2022 study which found that childhood exposure to lead has robbed Americans an average of 2.6 IQ points per person

David Merrick – the Director of Florida State University’s Emergency Management and Homeland Security Program (EMHS) and the Center for Disaster Risk Policy – was awarded a nearly $55,000 National Science Foundation grant for a project titled “Datasets for Uncrewed Aerial System (UAS) and Remote Responder Performance from Hurricane Ian.”

For the third straight year a Florida State University student has been named a scholar in the John Robert Lewis Scholars & Fellows Program.
Rodney Wells, a sophomore majoring in interdisciplinary social sciences from Jacksonville, Fla. joins a cohort of eight scholars selected from colleges across the country.
