How FSU’s Stavros Center is Distributing Economics Education Around the World

At Florida State University, the Gus A. Stavros Center for the Advancement of Free Enterprise and Economic Education is leading multiple efforts to provide quality economics education on campus and around the world.

Urban and Regional Planning Graduates Celebrated at Spring 2025 Awards and Graduation Ceremony

FSU’s Department of Urban and Regional Planning (DURP) celebrated the graduation of 28 students at the William Johnston building on Friday, May 2.

“Congratulations to this year’s Urban and Regional Planning graduates. Our graduates have completed a rigorous and diverse set of courses, and many have already secured positions working for public agencies and consulting firms,” said Michael Duncan, Ph.D., department chair and professor of urban and regional planning. “We are excited to see the great work they will do in helping to achieve more sustainable and resilient communities.”

FSU Expands Unconquered by Debt Program to Further Student Financial Literacy

FSU’s Gus A. Stavros Center for the Advancement of Free Enterprise and Economic Education is expanding Unconquered by Debt, a financial wellness program that enhances financial literacy and transforms decision making so that students become wealth creators, thanks to new support from the Office of the Provost.

Student Spotlight : Jared Bethke

Jared Bethke – second-year urban and regional planning master’s student – secured a $450,000 grant for the construction of the Welaunee Greenway recreational trail in Leon County as part of his FSU-funded Blueprint Intergovernmental Agency Internship.

“My internship at Blueprint, along with professional development courses, helped me land a job as a full-time Transportation Planning Consultant in Austin, Texas, starting in August 2025,” Bethke said. “I would not have reached this point without the support of the faculty, my education, and the extracurricular resources provided by FSU.”
