The College of Social Sciences and Public Policy encourages students to get more than a degree during their time at FSU by engaging in a variety of experiences outside the classroom to discover their passions, create lasting connections, and launch a successful career after graduation! 

This year, the College of Social Sciences and Public Policy is raising money for FSU’s 2025 Great Give to support our principle ‘The Future is Made in Bellamy’ initiative. Our Alumni and Friends have given generously to support student’s success and provide them with opportunities that cannot be covered by State of Florida funds.

FSU’s Career Center to host conference connecting students with alumni in public service sectors

Florida State University’s Career Center will hold a conference designed to connect students with 30 distinguished alumni, including COSSPP alumni, across leading public service organizations on Tuesday, Feb. 18.

Three Exceptional Economics Students Awarded Reva Daniels Metzinger Awards 

Three Economics undergraduate students were awarded Reva Daniels Metzinger Scholarships in Fall 2024: Gillian Haber, Eliza Terziev, and Drake Shook. 

These students were chosen for achieving academic excellence, particularly in upper-division economics courses. Awardees are given a certificate and a cash prize of $2,000.

Attend the Annual Charles B. Nam Lecture Featuring David Warner, Ph.D. 

Join the Center for Demography and Population Health on Friday, March 21, 2025, for the annual Charles B. Nam Lecture in the Sociology of Population. This year’s lecture will cover the topic “Disparities in Epilepsy among U.S. Older Adults: New Data and New Directions in Incidence-based Studies.”

FSU Students to Develop Innovative Solutions in ‘Rapid Relocation’ 24-Hour Design Sprint

Florida State University’s Innovation Hub and College of Social Sciences and Public Policy (COSSPP) will host a 24-Hour Design Sprint for all FSU students focused on “Rapid Relocation: Enhancing Emergency Evacuation in Florida” starting Friday, January 31.

Montserrat Zeron, an international student from Mexico City, has made an impact on the Florida State University community through her dedication to research and community service. As an international affairs major, Zeron has excelled academically and also embraced the vibrant campus life at FSU.
