College of Social Sciences and Public Policy Student Leadership Council Honors Students at Spring 2024 Gala

Dean Tim Chapin gives a speech at the Spring 2024 Gala

The College of Social Sciences and Public Policy Student Leadership Council (SLC) held its annual Spring Gala on April 22. The Gala is an event dedicated to recognizing the work and commitment SLC members have put into the organization.

The event opened with a keynote speech by Dean Tim Chapin, followed by an award ceremony dedicated to SLC members.

Five awards were presented at the Spring 2024 Gala:

  • Best Advisor: Tonja Guilford
  • Most Active Member: Phoenix Boland
  • Longest Standing Members: Shantae James and Kristen Rood
  • Best Officer: Jordan Brown
  • Most Valuable Player: Josiah Rivette

“We want to honor our members’ participation through our annual Spring Gala and recognize leaders in our College,” said Gisela Alvizures, Chair of the SLC. “We do this through our award ceremony, which serves to celebrate those that go above and beyond in the SLC.”
