After getting his A.A. from Tallahassee Community College, the transition to FSU has been seamless for Coleman.
“I chose to attend FSU because I really liked the campus, the culture, and the academics,” Coleman said. “I knew that attending FSU would be a great transition for the advancement of my education.”
From the minute he stepped onto campus, he’s been involved with a number of organizations. He is a member of FSU’s Economics Club, got Bloomberg certified through the Financial Management Association, and has served in leadership positions within NABE, which has taken him across the country.
“The most impactful experience I’ve had at FSU was when I was given the opportunity to travel to Chicago to attend NABE’s 64th Annual Conference,” Coleman said. “It was very eye-opening and exciting to be surrounded by such bright and important individuals in the field of economics. I had some great networking experiences, and the trip encouraged me to aspire further into the depths of a career in economics.”
Coleman plans to enroll in the College of Social Sciences and Public Policy’s Master’s in Applied Economics Program upon graduation, with the hope of eventually becoming an economic analyst in the private sector.
“FSU has prepared me in various ways for the next steps in my career,” Coleman said. “My coursework and hands-on experiences have provided me with a solid foundation of knowledge and skills that will be valuable going forward in the field of economics and business.”
