Yasamin Khosh – a second-year student pursuing a Dual Degree in Political Science and Media Communications – recently spent the summer as a Legislative Intern with Congresswoman Kathy Castor’s office in Washington, D.C.

Congresswoman Kathy Castor is the representative for Florida’s 14th District, which includes parts of Tampa and Hillsborough County. Khosh worked with the Representative’s DC Office for two months over the summer attending congressional hearings, meeting constituents, and learning about political communications.
“Being a part of Florida State University has allowed me to network with students who are also hard-working and dedicated in the same field as me,” said Khosh. “Florida State has allowed me to meet so many of my best friends, make meaningful change around campus, and continue dedicating myself to the university.”
Khosh is extremely involved on campus holding many leadership positions including the Membership Chair for ForwardFSU, Director of Programming for the Student Foundation, and a Senator representing the College of Social Sciences and Public Policy in the Student Senate.
When asked why she chose to attend FSU she said, “Florida State has such an inspiring environment. The students here are constantly hard-working and motivated to reach their goals and make our campus a better place. As a high schooler, I knew that was the type of environment I was looking for, and I have found that here.”
After graduating, Khosh plans to work in political consulting or in press for a Congressperson.
