Miriam Alrahil
Miriam is a third-year honors student from Jacksonville, pursuing a dual degree in Latin American and Caribbean Studies and Middle Eastern Studies. She is a Service Scholar, a member of the Arabic Honor Society’s board, and a volunteer with the local migrant/refugee community for whom she teaches ESOL classes. Miriam is committed to academic research, having conducted linguistics research among Spanish-Moroccan communities during her global exchange program in Alicante, Spain. Miriam also is conducting an Honors in the Major project investigating Latino Arabs through Post-Exilic literature as well as an Indigenous Studies internship under the auspices of FSU’s Spanish Department.
Gisela Alvizures
Gisela is a second-year student from Miami, majoring in Political Science and Sociology with a certificate in Emergency Management. She is chair of the college’s Student Leadership Council and a campus organizer for genCLEO, a nonprofit organization focused on environmental issues. Gisela participated in the Global Scholars Program and is currently completing an Honors in the Major project, studying how the gentrification of low-income neighborhoods in Miami-Dade County is being shaped by climate change. Gisela is a passionate advocate for environmental justice, especially within marginalized communities. Upon graduation, she plans to earn a master’s in urban and regional planning and, subsequently, a J.D. focused on environmental law.
Anthony Benn
Anthony is a third-year student from Orlando, dual majoring in Biological Sciences and Political Science. He is deeply involved in the Student Government Association (SGA) and was elected to the 59th Union Board, which he currently serves as vice-chair. In that position, he advocates with fellow board members and other student leaders on Student Union space issues as well as other matters. Anthony also is a national member of the Beta Beta Beta Biological Honor Society. He spent last summer in London at the university’s study center. Following graduation, Anthony plans to enter the health field, focusing on policies affecting both education and the environment.
Sarah Brophy
Sarah is a third-year student from Weston, FL, studying Political Science and History. On campus, she is a Service Scholar and president of the Rosenstrasse Foundation. Its mission is to commemorate the Rosenstrasse Protests and to spread acts of civil courage. Sarah also is a development intern with the International Rescue Committee (IRC) and has previously interned with the Florida State House of Representatives. Inspired by principles of service learning and by her interests in diplomacy and cross-cultural communication, following graduation Sarah plans to take the FSOT and become a foreign service officer.
Arantza Caudillo
Arantza is a second-year student from Puebla, Mexico, pursuing a double major in International Affairs and Human Rights with a minor in Political Science. Her academic interests revolve around gender violence, indigeneity, and women’s rights. She plans to do an Honors in the Major thesis on how access to justice can reduce the vulnerability of Indigenous women to gender violence in Mexico. Arantza is a member of the Honors College. She interns at the Center for the Advancement of Human Rights and serves as recruitment chair for After They Arrive, a service club that helps refugees gain access to community services in Tallahassee. Upon graduation, Arantza aspires to become an immigration attorney and to pursue a Ph.D. in gender studies.
Carson Dale
Carson is a second-year student from Columbia, Missouri, studying International Affairs with a focus on Public Administration. He is interested in the impacts of nuclear energy and artificial intelligence on political discourse, now and in the future. In addition to being Deputy Student Body Treasurer, Carson holds leadership positions in various campus organizations, including the Presidential Scholar’s Service Board and ForwardFSU’s Executive Board. In addition, he participates in the Honors Legal Scholars Program and is a founding member of Delta Sigma Phi fraternity. In his free time, Carson loves the outdoors, camping, hunting, hiking, and fishing. His career goal is to make a significant contribution to the creation of a truly interconnected global community.
Alexis Dorman
Alexis was born and raised in Orlando. She is a junior, pursuing dual degrees in International Affairs and Political Science with a minor in Education. She is the President of FSU College Democrats, an active member of Student Government, and the campus campaign coordinator of the Public Interest Research Group’s (PIRG) campaign against hunger and homelessness. Alexis is also the Legislative Aide for a Florida State Representative and a member of the Florida Democratic Party’s Youth Council.
Lena Duque
Lena is a third-year student from Tampa, pursuing a degree in Economics and Business Management. She is a member of the college’s Student Leadership Council, a consultant to the student-run Consulting Group, and a Member of the Chi Omega Sorority. Lena loves to travel. She spent last summer at FSU’s international study program in Florence, Italy. Previously, she was a Congressional intern for US Senator Marco Rubio and Volunteer Director for US Congressman Gus Bilirakis. Following graduation, Lena hopes to work abroad with an economic consulting firm.
David Garner
David is a third-year student from Gainesville. He is double majoring in Political Science and International Affairs with a concentration in Public Administration and a certificate in U.S. Intelligence. He has a passion for law and public service and plans on attending law school to study government or international law. Currently, David is a governmental analyst intern in the Office of Policy and Budget for the Executive Office of the Governor. He also is the External Affairs and Outreach Director as well as the Homelessness Campaign Coordinator for the Public Interest Research Group (PIRG) on campus. In this role, he raises awareness of multiple local, state, and national issues. Long term, David aspires to make the world a better place by continuing to work with and for people in need.
Michelle Gunn
Michelle is a third-year student from Orlando majoring in International Affairs with a concentration in Public Administration. She currently serves as the Political Action Chair for the FSU Chapter of the NAACP and Vice President of the FSU Chapter of Ignite National. Her passions include public service, research, and foreign advocacy as it relates to Black communities. She has pursued her interests by completing an AmeriCorps VISTA Summer Associate program with PeaceJam Southeast and by participating in the Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program. Following graduation, Michelle plans to pursue a graduate program in Public Administration to prepare for a career in domestic or international community development.
Max Harden
Max is a second-year student from Tampa, majoring in Economics and Philosophy with a minor in classics. He has extensive experience in leadership as a member of the Service Scholars Program, where he serves as chair of the scholar board. Additionally, he has served as an EngageTLH service trip facilitator for three semesters. He is also an honors legal scholar, FSU philosophy club treasurer, and former writer for FSView, the student paper. Last summer Max worked as a volunteer trainer in the Metropolitan Ministries’ food insecurity outreach department. His interests are economic policy, defense, and political/economic philosophy.
Isabella LoBianco
Isabella is a second-year student from Tampa, pursuing a dual degree in Psychology and Political Science with minors in English and Social Welfare. On campus, she serves as the SGA’s Senate Chief of Staff, and Director of Recruitment for the Student Alumni Foundation. She also is a member of the Student Foundation’s Board of Trustees and works as a student assistant in the SG&A offices. She is a member of the Delta Delta Delta sorority. Bella is passionate about our nation’s hunger and homelessness crises. After graduation, she plans to attend law school and pursue a career focused on victim advocacy.
Bryanna Major
Bryanna is a third-year student from Miami, pursuing a dual degree in Political Science and Economics. She serves as fundraising chair for the Society of Black Female Future Attorneys, and as a leader for the Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (UROP). She also is a social impact intern at the Trydent, a consulting firm that sponsors a pro bono program and various social impact initiatives. Previously, Bryanna worked as a research assistant for projects dealing with recidivism and reparations while, at the same time, earning a Research-Intensive Bachelors Certificate. Long term, Bryanna aspires to work on programs that redress poverty as well as income and housing inequality in our country.
Nadia Rassech
Nadia is a third-year student from Gilroy, California, completing a dual degree in International Affairs and Middle Eastern Studies, with certificates in US Intelligence Studies and Global Citizenship. On campus, Nadia is a Presidential Scholar. She has served in leadership positions with the Arabic Honor Society, Amnesty International, and Alpha Omicron Pi sorority. Other involvements include undergraduate research, working at FSU’s Middle East Center, and volunteering with the International Rescue Committee (IRC). Nadia spent last summer attending a human rights workshop at Oxford University, and later interning at a refugee aid organization in Halle, Germany. In the future, she hopes to study International Law, concentrating on refugee issues.
Isabelle Stoute
Isabelle is a third-year student from Central Pennsylvania, pursuing a degree in Political Science with a minor in Women’s Studies. As the Break Free from Plastics Coordinator for the Florida Public Interest Research Group (PIRG) at FSU, she spearheads grassroots initiatives to minimize the use of plastic products on campus. Izzy also has experience working with a local food bank and with the League of Women Voters in Tallahassee. While advocating for diverse public interest issues, her primary passion is to advance gender equity. Following graduation, Izzy plans to attend law school.
Samantha Weiss
Samantha is a second-year student from Fort Lauderdale, majoring in Political Science and Media Communication Studies. In addition to earning a U.S. Intelligence Certificate, Samantha is an Honors Legal Scholar and an Honors Colloquium Leader. She also is president of the Honors Student Association, vice chair of the college’s Student Leadership Council, marketing director for Relay for Life, public relations director for the 1910 Women’s Honorary, social media chair of the Phi Alpha Delta Pre-Law Fraternity, and member of FSU’s Model UN team. Samantha is passionate about cybersecurity and foreign policy. She intends to attend law school after graduation.
Rodney Wells
Rodney is a native of Jacksonville studying Interdisciplinary Social Sciences with a specialization in democracy and civil rights. On campus, he serves as Student Body Vice President. Previously, he was a White House Intern, a National Democracy Fellow for the NAACP, a Redistricting Intern with the ACLU of Florida, and a Congressional Black Caucus Foundation Intern. Rodney is a passionate advocate for marginalized communities and for the advancement of voting rights in the American South. Motivated by a strong sense of social justice, he aspires to become a civil rights attorney.
Montserrat Zeron
Montserrat is a third-year student from Mexico City majoring in International Affairs with a concentration in Public Administration and a certificate in Emergency Management. She was a member of the First Year Abroad Program and the 2023 Global Scholars cohort, Currently, she is an intern with the Global Media Division of University Communications. Montse’s other involvements include TEDxFSU, the Community Ambassadors Program, and the college’s Student Leadership Council. Montse has a passion for space and is currently pursuing an Honors in the Major project in Space Diplomacy under the direction of Dr. Ronald E. Doel. Upon graduation, she plans to continue her education and work in the space policy field.
