Carl Kitchens

Biography

Carl Kitchens, Ph.D., earned his doctorate in Economics from The University of Arizona in 2012. Dr. Kitchens is the Director of Graduate Studies & Charles and Joan Haworth Professor of Economics at Florida State University. He is also a research associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) and earned his BA in Economics from Auburn University. His research primarily focuses on economic history to understand the drivers of long-run growth, with a focus on the role of infrastructure and place based policies. His research has published in academic outlets such as the Economic Journal, International Economic Review, and Review of Economics and Statistics, among others.
