Katie Sherron

Biography

Katie Sherron, Ph.D., earned her doctorate in Economics from the University of Florida in 2009. Dr. Sherron is serving as the Director of the Master’s in Applied Economics program and as a Teaching Professor in the Department of Economics at Florida State University. With a passion for both teaching and mentorship, Katie oversees the development and implementation of curriculum, ensuring alignment with industry demands and fostering a dynamic learning environment for graduate students. Katie’s greatest joy in her career comes from witnessing the growth and success of her applied master’s students. Through her guidance and support, she empowers students to thrive in their academic endeavors and embark on fulfilling careers in economics and related fields. In addition to her professional roles, Katie finds fulfillment in her role as partner and parent. Together, they share a love for FSU sporting events, often attending Seminole games and supporting the university’s athletic programs. An avid runner, Katie finds solace and challenge in both in her personal and professional pursuits.
