FSU alum Geoff Cottrill has made Forbes Magazine’s inaugural list of 50 of The Most Entrepreneurial CMOs in Marketing Today.
This list recognizes 50 marketing chiefs “whose entrepreneurial spirit and actions are helping transform not only their brands but marketing, commerce and, often times, culture itself.”
Cottrill is the chief marketing officer at Topgolf Entertainment Group. He was selected “Because he’s thinking differently about how to build a brand and business, and how to transform the game of golf,” setting Topgolf apart from its competitors. His efforts to build the brand’s identity and diversify its customer base have helped take Topgolf to the next level, expanding into China and Scotland.
Cottrill graduated from Florida State University in 1985 with a B.S. in Economics and minors in International Affairs and British Studies. Since then, Cottrill has been a top-marketer at numerous companies, including Coca-Cola, Starbucks, Nike, Converse and now Topgolf.
