Join the College of Social Sciences and Public Policy for a talk in the Philosophy, Politics, and Economics Lecture Series: “Price and Value” on Thursday, November 30.

Geoff Sayre-McCord, Ph.D.

This lecture features Geoff Sayre-McCord, Ph.D., Professor of Philosophy at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is also the Founding Director of the Philosophy, Politics, and Economics Society, an international society of scholars.

Dr. Sayre-McCord has published works in the fields of moral theory, epistemology, modern philosophy, and more. His awards include the Philip L. Quinn Prize from the American Philosophical Association and the University of North Carolina’s Board of Governors’ Award for Excellence in Teaching.

In this talk, Dr. Sayre-McCord will discuss how value is crucially different than market price and the deep, interesting, and valuable connections that come from examining these concepts together.
