Join us on Monday, January 15, in observance of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day, hear from community leaders, including the Reverend Dr. R. B. Holmes, and be the first to learn about our new Reverend Doctor C.K. Steele Lecture Series from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Champions Club West Ballroom.

The keynote address will be given by the Reverend Dr. R. B. Holmes. Enjoy performances by Dr. Marci’a Porter, FSU Gospel Chair; Pastor LaNorris McFadden & First Lady of Shady Grove #2; Darryl Tookes, Director of FAMU Institute of Music Research and Music Industry and an art exhibition featuring Eluster Richardson and Ted Ellis, followed by a reception.

The Civil Rights Institute at FSU commemorates, celebrates and studies the U.S. Civil Rights Movement to promote justice and equality. Housed within FSU’s College of Social Sciences and Public Policy (COSSPP), the Civil Rights Institute aims to bring together students, faculty, and staff from across academic disciplines including African American studies, sociology, public health, urban and regional planning, criminology, social work, medicine, nursing and education.
