Approved Course List
All courses counted towards the major must come from the approved list of courses. A list is compiled each semester which reflects actual course offerings in each term. You can see the master list of approved courses on the FSU General Bulletin (https://registrar.fsu.edu/bulletin/undergraduate), although these will not include new or special topics courses. For the semester-specific approved course list, please contact the Latin American & Caribbean Studies undergraduate Academic Program Specialist.
Area Language Requirement
Majors must complete area language coursework to the intermediate level (2220 or equivalent course) or demonstrate intermediate proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking in Spanish, Portuguese, French, or another approved area language. Any credit hours taken to meet this requirement do not count towards the 36 credit hours required to complete the major.
Grade/GPA
Students must earn a C- grade or higher in each course and an overall 2.0 major GPA.
Second majors
Up to 6 credits may overlap between two majors.
