The Philosophy, Politics, and Economics (PPE) Minor is a 15-credit hour program consisting of five courses:
- IDS 2118: Introduction to Philosophy, Politics, and Economics (3 credits)
- IDS 4119: PPE Capstone Course (3 credits)
- One approved course from each of the following areas:
- Philosophy (3 credits)
- Political Science (3 credits)
- Economics (3 credits)
IDS 2118 is offered in the fall semester only and provides a foundational introduction to the interdisciplinary study of PPE. It is open to all students, regardless of major or minor.
The PPE Capstone course is offered in the spring semester only and is restricted to students who have declared the PPE minor. It serves as a culminating experience that draws together insights from the three disciplines around a specific topic. The most recent topic has been collective action.
A list of approved courses in Philosophy, Political Science, and Economics is available via the links above. While individual course schedules vary by semester, most approved courses are offered regularly.
If you intend to minor in PPE, please contact the PPE Program Director, Dr. Doug Norton, at danorton@fsu.edu.
