PPE Salons

PPE Salons encourage students and faculty from across different disciplines to come together. The word “salon” is French, originally meant “reception room” that was set apart for company and later became associated with a gathering of fashionable people. The French salon was an institution where intellectually curious people from across social strata could participate in lively discussions.

PPE Salons are led by faculty in Philosophy, Political Science, and/or Economics and involve presentations and discussions often paired with relevant readings.

Our hope is that these one-off discussions will provide a diverse, energetic intellectual community interested in how PPE can provide a dynamic look into topics and questions that affect us all.
