Students engage local politics in the City of Tallahassee and Leon County through leadership training and connecting with civic leaders, public officials, community leaders and stakeholder groups.
Florida State Governmental Internship
Fall Semester
Students will integrate the substantive content of political science and politics while gaining experience in Florida state level politics. APPLE Students receive individualized placement into a premier state-level internship with hands-on experience during the fast-paced Florida legislative session.
D.C. Internship With The Washington Center*
Summer Semester
The Washington Center provides a diverse selection of world-class internship programs and seminars in the heart of Washington, D.C. Completing a TWC program will equip you with the skills and confidence to thrive in a competitive global marketplace.
*Successful completion of the APPLE coursework and activities in the Fall and Spring automatically qualifies students for a scholarship for the Summer semester Washington Center experience which covers, at a minimum, approximately 75% of the program and housing fees (FSU tuition and fees not included). These scholarships cover, at a minimum, $9,000 of the approximately $12,000 program and housing fees.
Exceptional APPLE students may be awarded 100% of their program and housing fees.
Scholarship offers are made during the Spring semester to allow each student adequate time to decide if they will participate in a Summer internship program through The Washington Center.
