Biography
Robert E. Crew, Jr., Professor Emeritus, Florida State
Professor Crew taught at FSU from 1989 to 2020.
Professor Crew’s research and teaching focused on American state politics and public policy and on Florida government and politics. His particular interests were the behavior of governors, and education, welfare and criminal justice policy. At FSU, Crew served as Director of the Masters Program in Applied American Politics and was Associate Dean of the College of Social Sciences and Public Policy. Before coming to FSU, Crew held staff positions for the Governor and US Senator from Minnesota and was director of an agency of government in that state. He held prior academic and faculty positions at the Universities of Texas, Georgia, Minnesota, Houston and at Princeton
