Biography
Olga Gasparyan, Ph.D., earned her doctorate in Political Science from the University of Rochester in 2020. Dr. Gasparyan is an Assistant Professor of Political Science at Florida State University. She works in the areas of comparative public policy and computational social science. Specifically, her research focuses on how policy changes shape the behavior of local-level political actors and public opinion in the cross-country context. She explores policy impact with causal inference techniques, utilizing natural language processing and large social media data to examine public perceptions of climate change and health-related policies. She has also developed computational algorithms that improve the accuracy of predicting the polarizing power of political images. Dr. Gasparyan’s published work appears in Political Analysis and The Lancet Public Health.
