A respected strategic business partner and human resources leader, Angela Santone has had a distinguished career transforming culture, improving operations and achieving results for global companies. She is a collaborative leader who connects people with technology to improve employee performance and develop talent. She also serves as a trusted advisor to senior executives and a visionary for HR efficiency and effectiveness.
Throughout her 25+ year career, Angela has created and led high performing HR teams to rethink workforce practices, transform organizational culture and attract and retain top talent. Most recently, she has been Senior Executive Vice President of Human Resources for AT&T. Among her many achievements, she formulated and launched AT&T’s “How We Connect” culture tenets to help shift employees’ mindset and actions toward the customer experience. She also partnered with the CEO to create an Integrated Leader model that focused on developing world-class talent.
Previously, Angela was Executive Vice President, Chief Human Resources Officer, for Turner Broadcasting System, Inc. In this role, she developed and led a global HR strategy to acquire, retain, and grow talent across the portfolio of Turner businesses, including CNN, TNT, Turner International, tbs, Cartoon Network, Adult Swim, TCM, truTV, HLN and the Bleacher Report. As a member of the International President’s Executive Team, she created talent acquisition strategies across all businesses in the U.S., Latin America, EMEA and Asia Pacific. She led the Office of Corporate Responsibility, ensuring Turner’s presence as a good corporate citizen by promoting volunteerism, board service and activism. Angela began her 18-year career with TBS as an HR Advisor, and her skill for HR strategy and management across business units resulted in successive promotions with growing global responsibility and corporate-level involvement.
Angela is passionate about mentoring young people, defeating the stigma surrounding mental health problems, and fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion to strengthen individuals, communities, and the workplace. She serves on the Boys and Girls Club of America’s Board of Governors and is a board member of the Jed Foundation, a non-profit organization that protects emotional health and prevents suicide among teens and young adults in the United States.
She earned a Master of Science Degree in Counseling and Human Development from Troy University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology from Florida State University.
Today, she continues to support the ‘Noles and serves on the Student Affairs Development Committee. She was named by FSU as a Distinguished Alumni in 2020 and was honored to serve as Commencement Speaker in 2022.
The Florida native now lives in Dallas, Texas with her husband, Mike. They have two sons; Joseph is a junior at UCF and Andrew is a freshman at Syracuse. In her spare time, she enjoys yoga, reading and traveling.
