Our graduate courses center on professional development, theory and methods, and our three areas of concentration: Demography, Health & Aging, and Inequalities & Social Justice. Our professional development courses are designed to help students become integrated into the department and wider discipline, learn how to succeed in graduate school, teaching classes, and the job market, and carry out their theses and dissertation research. Our methodological training enables students to design diverse research projects, collect and manage data, and use standard and advanced techniques to analyze both quantitative and qualitative data. Courses in our three areas of concentration are designed to help students prepare for area comprehensive exams and become experts in these areas.
