Student Spotlight: Laura Zeqollari

Laura Zeqollari — third-year Interdisciplinary Social Science student — was selected to participate in the University of Virginia (UVA) Law Roadmap Scholars Initiative.

This highly competitive initiative spans over two summers and supports about a dozen undergraduate sophomores interested in pursuing a career in law by exposing students to the legal profession and providing them with the skills to be competitive applicants.

Zeqollari currently specializes in political science and sociology within the Interdisciplinary Social Science program.

“I chose these areas of study because I believe it is important to understand the world around us and how society acts within this world,” Zeqollari said. “ISS has been valuable in my development as a pre-law student by allowing the opportunity to engage with multiple disciplines”

Zeqollari came to FSU as a transfer student. She is involved in the Phi Alpha Delta Pre-Law Fraternity, where she has formed a community with other students interested in pursuing law. In addition, she is involved with the Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program, which offers students the chance to engage in research.

“As someone navigating college as a first-generation student, I was looking for more than just a place to take classes,” Zeqollari said. “I wanted a campus where I could feel connected, supported, and surrounded by people who care about making a difference.”

Zeqollari is also a small business owner who sells jewelry and sweaters inspired by pop culture with over 70,000 followers on social media.

“The most impactful experience I’ve had at FSU has been the connections I’ve made with fellow peers, faculty, and staff. Whether through organizations I am a part of, my classes, or mentorship from professors and advisors, these connections have provided guidance, encouragement, and a strong sense of community that has made all the difference in my college journey,” Zeqollari said.

After graduating in spring 2027, Zeqollari plans to pursue a degree in law driven by her passion for public service.
