Student Spotlight: Hayk Bejanyan

Hayk Bejanyan, Ph.D., – a Master of Public Administration (MPA) student and Fulbright scholar from Armenia – recently completed a summer internship at the World Bank. 

At the World Bank, Dr. Bejanyan served as short time consultant for Global Indicators Group “Business Ready” index. The Business Ready (B-READY) Index is the World Bank’s flagship report assessing the business environment and investment climate globally, focusing on regulatory frameworks and public services that affect business environment.

COSSPP Welcomes New Eminent Scholar Chairs and Endowed Professors for Fall 2024

The College of Social Science and Public Policy has announced two eminent scholar chairs and six endowed professorships for Fall 2024. These faculty members were chosen for these positions across the College to support Florida State University’s mission to conduct innovative research and provide high-quality instruction.

The Social Science Scholars Program provides career-accelerating leadership training and experiences to 18 outstanding COSSPP undergraduate students with a major in the College, cumulative GPA of 3.3 or higher, participation in on-campus, community, and/or business organizations, and is graduating no sooner than the Fall 2025 Semester.

COSSPP Celebrates 50 Years of Excellence

Established as the College of Social Sciences in the fall of 1973 as part of a university-wide academic reorganization, our college began with just five departments: economics, geography, government (now political science), sociology, and urban and regional planning.

There’s been much growth over the years, with 12 departments and interdisciplinary programs now housed within the college, along with 11 centers and institutes.

$3M estate gift to FSU expresses couple’s ‘love for the university’

In a significant show of support for their alma mater, Florida State University alumni Scott and Suzi Brock recently announced a $3 million charitable bequest that underscores the couple’s enduring appreciation for FSU Athletics, gives back to the College of Business and honors Scott Brock’s late father, a northwest Florida native who dedicated his life to public service.
