COSSPP Honors 2026-2027 Distinguished Alumni

Each year, the College of Social Sciences and Public Policy (COSSPP) presents its Distinguished Alumni Awards to accomplished individuals to recognize their professional achievements, contributions to society, and support of the college and university. We are pleased to announce our newest Distinguished Alumni: Jeralynn (Lynne) S. Cossman, Ph.D., Larry Hogan, and Gene Moran, Ph.D. They will be honored at the college’s Distinguished Alumni Gala in Spring 2027.

Apply for the College of Social Sciences and Public Policy’s prestigious Social Science Scholars Program by Friday, October 9, online at bit.ly/2027sssp.
The Social Science Scholars Program provides career-accelerating leadership training and experiences to 18 outstanding COSSPP undergraduate students with a major in the College, a cumulative GPA of 3.3 or higher, graduating no sooner than the Fall 2027 Semester.

Center for Demography and Population Health Founding Director Featured in Documentary: “From Shore to Shore: WWII Living Legacies”

Charles B. Nam, Ph.D., the founding director of FSU’s Center for Demography and Population Health, was prominently featured in a documentary produced by Westminster Communities of Florida titled “From Shore to Shore: A Living Legacies Project,” which was released on Memorial Day.
