FSU Launches Barnebey Leadership Lecture Series with Inaugural Talk by Jorge Gonzalez

FSU’s College of Social Sciences and Public Policy (COSSPP) launched the Barnebey Leadership Lecture Series with the inaugural talk by Jorge Gonzalez on February 28, 2025.

Gonzalez (B.S. Political Science ’87; M.S. Urban & Reginal Planning ’89) shared wisdom on leadership with FSU students, faculty, and staff. Currently serving as the chief executive officer of The St. Joe Company and as a member of FSU’s Board of Trustees, he spoke about principles of leadership and encouraging team growth that can be applied to any field.

2025 Annual Charles B. Nam Lecture Connects Students, Faculty, and Scholars 

The Annual Charles B. Nam Lecture in the Sociology of Population, hosted by the Center for Demography and Population Health (CDPH) on Friday, March 21, brought students and faculty together to hear from David F. Warner, Ph.D., a professor of sociology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. 

COSSPP Researchers Selected as PNAS 2024 Cozzarelli Prize Finalists 

The Center for Demography and Population Health’s (CDPH) Associate Director Mathew Hauer, Ph.D., and Sunshine Jacobs, a Ph.D. student in sociology were recently recognized as 2024 Cozzarelli Prize Finalists in recognition of their paper “Climate migration amplifies demographic change and population aging.”
