Two Florida State University sociology professors Michael McFarland, Ph.D., and Mathew Hauer, Ph.D., are part of a research group that led a groundbreaking and widely-covered study on the negative effects of lead in gasoline that resulted in millions of psychiatric disorders over the past 75 years.

President of U.N. General Assembly Ponders Climate, Human Rights, and Energy Resources in FSU Visit

FSU Sociologist Earns Early Career Award for Work in Population Health

Patricia Homan, Ph.D., an associate professor in the College of Social Sciences and Public Policy, is the first Florida State University faculty member to receive an early career award from the Interdisciplinary Association for Population Health Science (IAPHS) for her work in population health.

The Social Science Scholars Program provides career-accelerating leadership training and experiences to 18 outstanding COSSPP undergraduate students with a major in the College, cumulative GPA of 3.3 or higher, participation in on-campus, community, and/or business organizations, and is graduating no sooner than the Fall 2025 Semester.
