Four COSSPP Students Receive Sustainability Fellowships

Four College of Social Science and Public Policy students were selected as Sustainability Fellows through Florida State Sustainable Campus to partner with Tallahassee-based organizations that address challenges related to environmental, social and/or economic sustainability.

They will be recognized at the Fellows Poster Session on April 22 from 4 to 6:30 pm in the Student Services Building, Room 214.

3 COSSPP Specialized Faculty Promoted

The College of Social Sciences and Public Policy (COSSPP) announced the promotions of three specialized faculty members.

“These successes continue our 100% success rate over the last decade-plus in seeing candidates that we advance to the University level being approved for promotion,” said COSSPP Dean Timothy Chapin. “While these promotions rest primarily in the excellence of the faculty that we hire, it also reflects the supportive and productive work environment we have collectively established within the College.”

Kelly Matush, Ph.D., Assistant Professor of Political Science, co-authored her thesis “Militarized State-building Interventions and the Survival of Fragile States” alongside David A. Lake, Ph.D., Distinguished Professor of Political Science at the University of California, San Diego, which explores the variation in the stability of nations which experience militarized state-building interventions.
