The College of Social Sciences Student Leadership Council Hosts Panel with FSU Alumni

The College of Social Sciences Student Leadership Council (SLC) hosted a panel with FSU Alumni on April 8 to provide members with opportunities for networking and valuable insights into leadership skills.

The panel featured three COSSPP Alumni involved in the Tallahassee community:

  • Wayne Tedder (M.S. in Planning ’93) – Assistant City Manager for the City of Tallahassee
  • Conor McLaughlin (B.S. Political Science ’07) – Executive Senior Attorney for the Florida Department of Financial Services
  • Maggie Brandenburg (M.S. Demography ’18) – Senior Research Analyst for Visit Florida

Sarah Holmes, the SLC’s Alumni Relations Director and second-year student majoring in Political Science and International Affairs, shared her thoughts about the importance of events like this.

“Having a space to get advice from and hear the experiences of those who were once in your shoes is extremely valuable,” Holmes said. “Whether it’s about experiencing impostor syndrome, graduate school, career changes, or more, alumni have helpful advice to give.”
