Three COSSPP faculty win University Teaching Awards

Three professors from the College of Social Sciences and Public Policy won Florida State University Teaching Awards.

Carrie Lee, Ph.D.; Doug Norton, Ph.D.; Matthew Pietryka, Ph.D. were honored at FSU’s Faculty Awards Celebration on April 25.

The University Teaching Awards program recognizes exceptional faculty for excellence in undergraduate and graduate instruction. Faculty are nominated by students and alumni.

“I’m pleased to see these great professors recognized for their outstanding teaching,” Dean of the College of Social Sciences and Public Policy Tim Chapin, Ph.D. said. “Dr. Lee, Dr. Norton, and Dr. Pietryka are exceptional educators and provide our students with exemplary instruction in economics and political science.”

Dr. Lee, an Associate Teaching Professor in the Economics Department, won the Foundational Course Excellence award.

Dr. Norton, Assistant Teaching Professor in the Economics Department and Assistant Director of the L. Charles Hilton Jr. Center for the Study of Economic Prosperity and Individual Opportunity, won the Outstanding Teaching in the Major Award.

Dr. Pietryka, an Associate Professor of Political Science, won the Innovation in Teaching Award.
