Florida State University’s Unconquered by Debt program hosted its first Food and Finance workshop for faculty and staff on Tuesday, September 19, led by Joe Calhoun, Ph.D. titled “Building Blocks to Wealth and Money Management.”
Food and Finance is a series of workshops offered to faculty and staff at FSU to enhance their personal finance knowledge each Tuesday from 12–12:45 p.m. in The Stavros Center.
“I’m really pleased our first Food and Finance workshop this semester was so well attended,” said Dr. Calhoun, Director of Gus A. Stavros Center for the Advancement of Free Enterprise and Economic Education and FSU’s Department of Economics Chair and Teaching Professor. “We are excited to offer this opportunity to our faculty and staff.”
Each Food and Finance workshop is led by an FSU faculty member or an industry expert, presenting the same concepts FSU students learn about in the Unconquered by Debt program’s workshops for students.
Attendees enjoy interactive sessions with experts to enhance financial literacy and transform decision-making to empower individuals to become wealth creators.
The program promotes balanced financial choices so that participants understand they are responsible for their current and future lifestyles, focusing on key life choices: spending, saving, investing, managing credit, evaluating risk, insuring assets, and planning for retirement.

All workshops will be held at the Stavros Center for Economic Education, 250 S. Woodward Ave. (next to the UPS Store) on Tuesdays from 12-12:45 p.m. Food and drinks will be provided at every event.
